This year’s edition of the Army-Navy football game, one of the most hallowed traditions in college football, will have a special guest in Philadelphia.

President Donald Trump plans to attend this year’s clash between the United States Military Academy and the United States Naval Academy, according to the Associated Press. The AP reported Friday that Trump would do the ceremonial coin toss before the game.

Trump had previously attended the Army-Navy game in the past when he was president-elect in 2016, in which he drew some ire over a comment about the game’s quality of football during an interview in the broadcast booth.

Per the AP, Trump will be the 10th sitting U.S. President to attend the game, the first being Teddy Roosevelt back in 1901. Barack Obama attended the game when it took place in 2011 at FedEx Field, the Washington Redskins’ stadium in Landover, Maryland, while George W. Bush attended three different games.

Army and Navy reveal uniforms for clash

As is tradition these days, Army and Navy will be wearing special uniforms for their matchup on Saturday, which were revealed on Monday.

Army’s duds are an all-black look with red and gold touches meant to honor the historic 1st Infantry Division of World War I. Per NCAA.com, the Fighting First was “the first permanent division in the regular Army, the first American division to fight in the first World War, the first to use modern, combined arms operations and the first to defeat the enemy at the Battle of Cantigny.”

The ‘1’ on the helmets is an allusion to the division’s “Big Red One” nickname and a callback to their uniforms, which also featured a red ‘1.’

Navy kept it a little simpler, prominently featuring the Midshipmen’s Bill the Goat mascot that dates back to the 19th century.

Who is favored for Army-Navy?

Army enters the game as the strong favorite to win its third game in a row in the series, though it still has a long way to go before it can match the 14-game streak Navy held over its head between 2002 and 2015.

The Black Knights currently sit at 9-2 and are on a seven-game winning streak, while Navy is 3-9 after a rough season in the American Athletic Conference.
