The Ottawa Senators are not currently looking to fill the position of president of hockey operations, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
Friedman also stated that the search is off until the end of this season, although the situation remains fluid.
The last person named to the role was the late Bryan Murray. After retiring from the position in 2016, he remained with the team in a smaller capacity. He died of cancer in 2017.
In March, the Senators released a statement saying they were looking into filling the vacancy. The person who will eventually assume the position will not threaten general manager Pierre Dorion’s job security, Friedman reported in March.
