Report: Milan and Fonseca watch on as attacking midfielder confirms Lille exit

Yusuf Yazici has confirmed his departure from Lille given the expiring contract and according to a report, AC Milan are following the situation. Paulo Fonseca is a big fan of the player and could perhaps push for a move.

Yazici scored 12 goals in 42 appearances under the guidance of Fonseca at Lille this past season, showcasing his qualities after a subpar 2022-23 season. On his X account, the Turkish international has confirmed his departure from the club, leaving as a free agent.

According to Get French Football News, Fonseca is a huge fan of the attacking midfielder and a move to Milan could thus be an option. There is nothing concrete as of now, but the situation could perhaps evolve if the Portuguese manager were to ask the management to sign the 27-year-old.

On the other hand, Milan don’t exactly need a new attacking midfielder and will probably prefer to spend the money elsewhere. Adrien Rabiot is another free agent who has been linked with the club and that reinforcement – albeit heftier – would certainly make more sense.

The transfer market will officially open tomorrow and there could perhaps be some surprises, with Milan being very tight-lipped about their targets.
