Report: Bears to start OG Matt Pryor, replacing Nate Davis
It looks like Chicago Bears offensive lineman Matt Pryor is going to see more action on Sunday than originally thought. According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, the Bears are preparing to start Pryor at right guard over Nate Davis, who is questionable for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Yesterday,#Bears coach Matt Eberflus alluded to the possibility Matt Pryor plays on Sunday at Indianapolis.
"Super excited for him, if he's working in there with Nate (Davis) or whatever that might be."

This report comes just one day after head coach Matt Eberflus praised the veteran offensive lineman and hinted that he would see work while rotating with Davis. "We really see improvement in him and what he's brought to the table in terms of his work ethic, his energy, and what he brings there, too, as a teammate," Eberflus said via Josh Schrock of NBC Sports Chicago. "Super excited for him if he's working in there with Nate or whatever that might be; we'll see in terms of getting closer to the game, but he's really had a good work week."
The decision to start Pryor could be based on Davis' performance, but it could also be related to injury, too. Davis has struggled at times during the first few weeks and looked lost on certain plays, particularly against the Houston Texans. He popped up on the injury report due to a groin issue he suffered during practice, though, and is officially questionable for the game.
It remains to be seen what Davis' status will be come gametime, but Pryor has a chance to provide a boost to a faltering offensive line that has allowed nine sacks through two weeks and has struggled particularly up the middle. The versatile veteran has 24 starts since coming into the league in 2019, all of them coming with either the Philadelphia Eagles or Indianapolis Colts.
