Report: Bayern make "significant progress" in Davies contract talks
Bayern Munich have been in talks with Alphonso Davies and his agent for some time about extending the left-back's contract beyond the summer, but the parties have so far been unable to reach an agreement.
However, after a long period of stalled negotiations, it seems that Bayern have reason to be positive about the latest developments.
According to Sky Germany, Bayern offered Davies a contract worth €13-14 million per season in the spring, but the left-back was demanding an annual salary of up to €20 million.
The Canada international is now understood to have made significant financial concessions to Bayern, with a compromise now in sight and crucial talks set to take place before Christmas.
Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund recently spoke positively of Davies' performances this season.
"He plays a lot and very well," he said.
“It's a very good fit at the moment and of course we hope it will stay that way.”
