Report – Bayer Leverkusen Rival Monza To Sign Inter Milan & Argentina Starlet

Bayer Leverkusen are ready to rival Monza to try and sign Inter Milan defender Tomas Palacios on loan this month.

This according to Sky Sports Deutschland reporter Florian Plettenberg. He reports in a tweet that the 22-year-old is on Leverkusen’s list of defensive targets along with Roma’s Mario Hermoso.

It is now looking as though defender Palacios will leave Inter on loan this month.

The Argentine only just joined the Nerazzurri during last summer transfer window.

Over the first half of this season, Tomas Palacios has gotten up to speed in training. However, he has featured very little – just a handful of cameo appearances from the bench.

Therefore, a loan move could allow the 22-year-old to gain more playing time.

However, Sky Deutschland reporter Plettenberg reveals, there is another club with an interest in signing Palacios as well. They are a bigger name team, and they are from abroad.

Bayer Leverkusen are keen to sign a defender before the end of the January transfer window.

And according to Plettenberg, Inter defender Palacios is on the German champions’ shortlist of three candidates to bolster their backline.

However, Plettenberg reports, Palacios is not Leverkusen’s top target.

Rather, the German club have lined up Roma defender Mario Hermoso as their priority target in defense.
