Rennes line up move for Montpellier’s Joris Chotard

It looks set to be a busy transfer window for Stade Rennais. Seko Fofana is on his way to the club. As per Le Parisien, the Ivory Coast international underwent his medical in Paris on Monday ahead of the €20m move.

He isn’t the only new face expected at Roazhon Park. Although the move is not yet complete, RC Lens goalkeeper Brice Samba is expected to join Rennes in the coming days. However, with the club looking to launch an assault on the top half of the league in the second half of the season, more arrivals are expected.

According to L’Équipe, a move for Joris Chotard (23) is being considered. The France youth international almost joined Wolfsburg in the summer before ultimately remaining with Montpellier HSC. However, La Paillade are needing to raise funds and so a bid between €6-7m could be enough to land Chotard.

Hoffenheim are also interested in the midfielder, who given his price, is seen as more of an opportunistic signing towards the end of the January transfer window.
