Remparts Defenseman Taillefer Commits To UMass Amherst
The Quebec Remparts have announced that defenseman Alexandre Taillefer has committed to the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Taillefer, 16, has one goal over eight games since joining the Remparts last month.
The six foot blueliner made the move to the QMJHL after the NCAA allowed CHL players to keep Division-I eligibility.
He is the first player from the CHL that UMass Minutemen have signed, however he will eventually join recent Rimouski Océanic signing Thomas Belzil, who committed to UMass before making the move to the 'Q'.
It is expected that Taillefer will join UMass in his age-20 season.
