Reda Belahyane agrees to join Rennes from Hellas Verona
According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Reda Belahyane (20) has agreed to join Stade Rennais from Hellas Verona. The former OGC Nice academy product has been a target for Jorge Sampaoli’s side as they look to reinforce their squad and escape the relegation fight they have slipped into.
Rennes have had to fend off rival interest from Lazio. However, despite some reports linking Chelsea with the Moroccan international. Romano confirms the Premier League side were never a participant in the race for the defensive midfielder.
Discussions between Rennes and Verona are still ongoing, but Marc Mechenoua adds that they are accelerating and an agreement could be quickly reached. The total fee could be close to €12 million.
Reda Belahyane to join Brice Samba and Seko Fofana
Rennes have already reinvested into their squad this winter bringing seasoned internationals Brice Samba and Seko Fofana into the team. However, despite these additions results have not improved for Sampaoli and the club sits in the relegation playoff spot.
