Red Wings Reveal Stadium Series Uniform
On the first of March, the Detroit Red Wings will return to outdoor hockey for the first time since 2017 when they take on the Columbus Blue Jackets at the 2025 Stadium Series at Ohio Stadium, better known as the Horseshoe. And this morning, we got our first look at the uniforms the two teams will wear for the occasion, as modeled by former University of Michigan teammates, Dylan Larkin and Zach Werenski.
While NHL teams trot out throwback uniforms for the Winter Classic, the Stadium Series tends more toward the experimental.
For the Red Wings, that means a jersey with a script "Detroit" across the front and the Winged Wheel crest moved to the shoulder, which the NHL says is inspired by automative insignia, and there is an octopus sewn into the inside of the hem. "Hockeytown" is written across the inside of the collar as well as on the pant leg. The helmet has a very football aesthetic, with a winged wheel crest across the side and white stripe running along the crown.
Columbus moved the cannon emblem that normally appears on the shoulder of its jersey to its crest, while also featuring the outline of Ohio around the captains' letters.
In the following gallery, you can take a peak at both uniforms in some more detail, with Larkin, Moritz Seider, and Lucas Raymond showing off the full uniform.

As for where you can purchase one of these jerseys, per the NHL and Fanatics' press release announcing their release, the Red Wings edition will be available for pre-order exclusively through the team store at Little Caesars Arena.
