🇺🇸 Red-hot Haji Wright picks up right where he left off for Coventry
United States international Haji Wright is back amongst the goals for Coventry City this evening after a superb 2023/24 campaign for the English club.
The forward was a man on a mission last year, scoring 19 goals and providing seven assists in 50 appearances for Coventry City, and he picked up right where he left off to start the new Championship campaign.
Wright showed why many believe he should be in the running for the forward role for the USMNT, though he has featured mostly on the wing, in the opening 15 minutes of Coventry’s clash with Oxford United, darting into the box to power home a superb header and open the scoring.
WE LEAD EARLY! 🩵
Milan crosses and Haji dominated his defender to head home from close range. He's a monster.

And just when you thought his start to the season couldn’t get any better, Wright popped up in the last second of the Oxford clash to bag the winner and spark wild scenes at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Should Wright come close to matching, or even eclipsing his sterling stats from last season, it would be a fifth straight campaign in which he has registered double digit goals.
