Recruit roundup: Future Gamecock receiver Lex Cyrus turns in another big performance
South Carolina wide receiver commitment Lex Cyrus had another big performance this week.
The Susquehanna Township (Pa.) standout caught a season-high eight passes for 112 yards and a touchdown in a 21-14 win over Middletown. Susquehanna is now 5-1 on the season.
For the season, he has 31 catches for 529 yards and six touchdowns. Cyrus has a pair of 100-yard games this season and seven over the past two years.
Cyrus is one of 20 commitments for Shane Beamer and the South Carolina football program for the 2025 recruiting class.
Here is a look at how some of them are doing so far this weekend and season:
Anthony Addison, DE, Sumter: Addison had 11 tackles (4.5 for loss) and two sacks against Lugoff-Elgin. For the season, he has 49 tackles, 12 for loss and three sacks.
Taeshawn Alston, DE, Vance County (NC): Vance defeated Louisburg, 38-33. For the season, Alston has 16 tackles, five for loss, 2.5 sacks and a fumble recovery.
Lex Cyrus, WR, Susquehanna Township (Pa.): Cyrus caught eight passes for 112 yards and a touchdown against Middletown. For the season, he has 31 catches for 529 yards and six touchdowns.
Donovan Darden, DE/LB, Havelock (NC): Darden had four tackles and three QB pressures against Tarboro. For the season, he has 28 tackles, nine for loss and two sacks.
Jaquavious Dodd, DL, Eastside: Eastside was off this week. For the season, he has 27 tackles, 11 for loss, five sacks, six QB pressures and two caused fumbles.
Chris Hatfield, DB, Long County (Ga.): Long County was off last week. For the season, Hatfield has 21 tackles, two for loss and an interception.
AJ Holloway, LB, Buford (Ga.): Buford was off last week. For the season, Holloway has 26 tackles, five for loss, a sack and five QB hurries.
Jaquel Holman, ATH, Blackville-Hilda: Blackville-Hilda was off this week. For the season, he has rushed for 648 yards, five touchdowns and caught four passes for 60 yards.
Max Kelley, K, Galltin (Tenn.): Kicked one extra point in a loss to Green Hill. For the season, Kelley is 4 of 6 on field goals and 10 of 12 on extra points. He also is averaging 42.6 yards per punt.
Demarcus Leach, QB/S, Abbeville: Abbeville’s game was postponed because of Hurricane Helene. For the season, Leach is 28 of 45 passing for touchdowns, 47 carries for 352 yards and six touchdowns. He hasn’t played much on defense but is expected to play more as the season goes along.
Brian Rowe, WR, Jay M Robinson (NC): Rowe caught two passes for 85 yards in a win over Carson on Monday. For the season, he has 14 catches for 325 yards and three touchdowns.
Kobby Sakyi-Prah, DE, Roswell (Ga.): Roswell was off last week. For the season, Sakyi-Prah has 27 tackles, eight sacks and five QB pressures.
Jayden Sellers, WR, South Florence: South Florence was off last week. Sellers has 29 catches for 446 yards and three touchdowns. He also has carried the ball for 100 yards and three touchdowns. He also has a kick return for a touchdown.
Cutter Woods, QB, Westside: Westside’s game against Weddington (NC) was canceled because of Hurricane Helene. For the season, Woods is 57 of 90 passing for 1,049 yards and 13 touchdowns.
