Real Sociedad in ‘advanced talks’ to sign Arsenal-bound Mikel Merino replacement

The powers that be at La Liga outfit Real Sociedad are closing on the signature of a member of the midfield ranks at French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Carlos Soler as the player in question.

The brass at Anoeta have, over the last 24 hours, been forced to step up their efforts to secure reinforcements in the middle of the park.

This comes amid the widespread understanding that star midfielder Mikel Merino is on the verge of departing Anoeta, for Premier League heavyweights Arsenal.

The Gunners have agreed to meet the demands of their La Real counterparts, with the transfer, in turn, beginning to look like a formality:

And, as alluded to above, it has not taken at all long for the Sociedad hierarchy to source their Merino replacement.

As revealed in a further report by way of Fabrizio Romano, Carlos Soler, fresh off an underwhelming campaign with PSG, is the chosen one.
