Real Madrid and Uruguay star Federico Valverde backs up Luiz Suarez’s Marcelo Bielsa claims
Last week, former Barcelona striker Luis Suarez made waves when he took aim at Uruguay head coach Marcelo Bielsa. El Pistolero issued several strong accusations, which included claiming that Bielsa does not allow the squad to greet supporters or national team employees, as per Relevo.
“At the Celeste Complex, employees are not allowed to pass and say hello and eat with us. They have to take care of themselves even through the door where they have to enter. It breaks my heart that in the Complex they live like this today.”
Suarez’s claims have now been backed up by international teammate Federico Valverde. Speaking to the media on Monday (via Relevo), the Real Madrid midfielder spoke on the topic.
“What Luis said is all true. He never lied and never said things that were not true. He did not exaggerate at any time, he said things as they are. For my part, and like all the references, I speak in the dressing room. Talk to each other as a team, like what we always were and improve.”
It remains to be seen how Bielsa addresses the topic, which he will do so when he speaks to the media himself later this week.
