After weeks of impasse, Real Madrid have finally made a breakthrough in the race to sign Leny Yoro this summer.

Recent reports suggest the Spanish giants are negotiating a lower-priced deal with LOSC Lille, with the French outfit reportedly prepared to sell the defender at a discount.

Real Madrid have also intensified their pursuit of the young defender and it appears Carlo Ancelotti is determined to sign him before the pre-season camp.

Leny Yoro happy with Real Madrid’s offer

Amid widespread speculation, The Athletic‘s Mario Cortegana has offered a crucial update on Real Madrid’s pursuit of Leny Yoro.

Cortegana suggests that talks between Real Madrid and Lille are progressing well and an agreement could be reached for a fee of around €40 million.

Lille are particularly facing pressure from Yoro himself, who is reportedly determined to join Los Blancos. He is even ready to run down his contract at Lille if the two clubs fail to reach an agreement in the near future.

Moreover, Yoro is happy with the project offered by Real Madrid. It appears agreeing personal terms with the defender will not be a problem for Los Blancos.

Real Madrid, for their part, are likely to propose a six-year contract to Leny Yoro, thus sealing the future of the defender until 2030.

Crucial days ahead

Everything is set for Real Madrid to complete the capture of Leny Yoro sooner rather than later.

With Lille ready to negotiate a lower fee and Yoro keen on signing a contract, the road is clear for Los Blancos to make their third major signing of the season.

Keeping that in mind, the upcoming days could prove to be crucial as the two parties look to finalise a deal for the young Frenchman.
