Real Madrid table improved offer for defensive target
La Liga giants Real Madrid have ramped up their efforts to bring in Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich.
That’s according to German transfer insider Florian Plettenberg, who has on Thursday provided a fresh insight into Davies’ situation at present.
After it was previously suggested that Bayern Munich had all but sewn up a renewal agreement with the club’s star left-back, things have now taken a sudden, and altogether drastic turn.
This comes amid confirmation that ‘significant tension’ was noted during the latest round of contract negotiations between Davies’ entourage and the Bayern brass.
The Canadian is now understood to be demanding ‘much more than €20m per year’, as well as ‘an exorbitant signing fee’.
With the board at the Allianz Arena unwilling to meet such figures, Real Madrid have in turn been allowed back into the fray.
Los Blancos have as a result moved forward with a fresh, and improved proposal of their own, the details of which are yet to be revealed.
Crucial weeks now lie ahead when it comes to Davies’ future.
🚨🆕 On Wednesday, further negotiations took place between Alphonso #Davies’ advisor Nick Huoseh and Max Eberl. However, the discussions were marked by significant tension as new demands emerged despite substantial progress being made since December.
