Real Madrid starlet freezes exit talks until after the US pre-season tour

Carlo Ancelotti has called several young academy talents to reinforce his squad heading into the USA tour. Still without the services of several starters, the youngsters have a golden opportunity to prove their worth.

One such young talent who has been called up to reinforce the attack is Alvaro Rodriguez. The 20-year-old forward stares at an uncertain future and was largely expected to leave Real Madrid but AS reveals an alteration in his situation.

Looking to impress

Rodriguez has attracted interest from several clubs this summer both in Spain and from abroad. As revealed by the outlet, however, his entourage has currently frozen all such talks.

The Uruguayan protege believes that he has a golden opportunity to make an impression over the next three games and thus will decide his future only after the tour.

After all, the absence of regular first-team players from the squad gives Rodriguez a good chance of seeing valuable minutes over the next week.

A forgotten option

The 20-year-old was one of Carlo Ancelotti’s preferred options off the bench at one point in the 2022-23 season and one would remember him for his goal against Atletico Madrid that helped Los Blancos draw the derby that season.

Last year, however, the youngster did not see any growth in terms of first-team participation. He made short cameos against Arandina and Sevilla but primarily features for Real Madrid Castilla.

Having completed two years with the subsidiary team, he has been called up for his first pre-season tour with the first team and is determined to make the most of his chance.
