A major claim surrounding one of the leading problems in the France national team squad en route to the country’s elimination from Euro 2024 has this week been forthcoming online.

France, of course, were sent packing from the Euros on Tuesday night.

As much came owing to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Spain, which saw Les Bleus surrender an early advantage following Kolo Muani’s opener inside ten minutes.

In truth, few of a French persuasion could have argued post-match that Spain were not deserving winners, with La Roja having looked the much more accomplished side over the course of the 90 minutes.

Didier Deschamps’ blues, on the other hand, were disjointed, lacking in ideas, and, all told, a little lost.

This display proved the straw that broke the camel’s back in a hugely disappointing tournament for France, whose alarming form, in the face of such unquestionable talent, saw understandable blame placed on the doorstep of manager Deschamps.

And one particular personnel call on the part of the tactician, over the course of the summer, has today been highlighted as one which gave rise to legitimate problems in the French camp.

That’s according to insider Romain Molina, who points towards Eduardo Camavinga’s lack of minutes as a source of contention amongst his teammates, and more.

Speaking as part of a deep dive on France’s Euro 2024 campaign, Molina explained:

“No one in the French national team squad understands why Eduardo Camavinga was a substitute. It’s the real problem within the squad.”
