Real Madrid star left out of Copa squad amid efforts to find a new club in January
A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid is actively searching for a way out of the club this month.
That’s according to Blancos insider Arancha Rodríguez of Cope, who points towards Jesús Vallejo as the player in question.
Real Madrid are of course primed to return tomorrow evening.
Fresh off securing a victory over Valencia in their first outing of 2025 on Friday, the capital outfit will turn attentions towards matters in the Copa del Rey, in a meeting with minnows Deportivo Minera.
Carlo Ancelotti’s squad of players called up for the clash was unveiled a short time ago, featuring a whole host of academy talents.
Nowhere to be seen, however, was the aforementioned Vallejo.

And as much, it has since been revealed, comes for good reason.
As per the aforementioned Arancha Rodríguez:
‘Jesús Vallejo is looking to leave Real Madrid in this winter transfer window. The reason for the absence of the centre-back from Carlo Ancelotti’s list for the Copa del Rey match against Deportiva Minera is that Vallejo wants to change teams.’
It now remains to be seen if the brass at the Santiago Bernabéu can find a taker for a player who has managed just ten minutes of playing time this season.
