Real Madrid star’s alarming injury update labelled ‘complete nonsense’
The recent speculation, pointing towards Real Madrid star David Alaba as having suffered a major setback in his injury recovery efforts, has today been put firmly to bed.
For those who may have missed it, reports began to surface in the Spanish media early this week, pointing towards a potential end to Alaba’s career.
The Austrian international has been sidelined since late last year, owing to an ACL tear.
After his return date, originally pencilled in for this month, was pushed back until 2025, it was subsequently claimed that Alaba’s situation was not at all improving, with the wearing of the cartilage in his knee having left the former Bayern Munich man in severe pain.
So serious is the matter, it was claimed, that Alaba may never be able to take to the pitch again.
As alluded to above, however, 24 hours on, such fears have been firmly quelled.
This comes amid confirmation on the part of the reliable Fabrizio Romano that Real Madrid’s veteran stopper is recovering ‘according to plan’:
‘Rumours about a possible early end to David Alaba’s career or new pain in his knee are complete nonsense. Alaba’s recovery is still going according to plan; player, doctors, fitness coaches are satisfied with healing process. Alaba, continuing his plan and feeling better.’
