With the January transfer window just around the corner, Real Madrid are growing increasingly keen on securing the services of a new right-back.

Following the injury of Dani Carvajal, the club are desperate for a new face in the right-back position, especially following Lucas Vazquez’s underwhelming performances.

For the longest period, Real Madrid have been closely linked with a move for Trent Alexander-Arnold. However, the club are facing fresh competition from Barcelona in the race to sign the Englishman, who could be available on a free transfer next summer.

Real Madrid interested in Diego Dalot

That is perhaps why Real Madrid are exploring moves for other options available in the market, with Diego Dalot emerging as a potential target.

This is according to Ben Jacobs, who suggests the club are looking at the possibility of signing the Manchester United star, as a quick fix for the right-back position.

Formerly of FC Porto, Dalot has been a regular at Man United, though his own progress has been bogged down by the team’s underwhelming displays in the Premier League.

With the Red Devils languishing in the wrong half of the league table, Real Madrid believe they would sell the Portuguese international for around £45 million, although new manager Ruben Amorim is an admirer.

Although Dalot has endured a difficult time at Man United, he could be an interesting investment for Real Madrid.

With over 100 appearances in the Premier League, Dalot has ample experience at the highest level while his technical ability make him an able alternative to Carvajal.

Acquiring the services of Dalot, however, could prove to be difficult as new coach Ruben Amorim rates the Portuguese international quite highly and might not want to sanction an exit.
