Real Madrid schedule first pre-season friendly for week ahead

The powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid have pencilled in the club’s first pre-season friendly fixture, for the week to come.

That’s according to Marca, who have on Sunday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.

Real, of course, will soon jet out to the USA, as part of efforts to ramp up preparations for the campaign ahead.

Their first high-profile test of pre-season has been set for August 1st, when Carlo Ancelotti’s troops will lock horns with Italian heavyweights AC Milan in Chicago.

As alluded to above, however, this will actually mark the La Liga champions’ 2nd outing of the summer.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of Marca that the brass at the Santiago Bernabéu have organised a friendly meeting with Albacete for this coming Wednesday.

The clash will be played out behind closed doors, at Valdebebas.

Ancelotti and co. are expected to make use of a mix of available first-team players and those from the youth setup in Madrid, a first opportunity of the summer for those under the watch of the Italian to prove themselves in a semi-competitive setting.
