Carlo Ancelotti has ruled out further signings for Real Madrid this summer and says the European champions have a ‘spectacular squad’.

The Spaniards have made the biggest signing of the summer with the arrival of Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer, with the high-profile addition of the France captain adding to a squad that won a La Liga and Champions League double in 2023-24.

Brazilian teenager Endrick has also arrived at the Bernabeu to add to an embarrassment of attacking riches, though Los Blancos have been linked with defensive additions.

Real Madrid were interested in signing Leny Yoro from Lille before the centre-back’s move to Manchester United, while Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies – whose contract expires in 2025 – has also been named as a transfer target.

However, Ancelotti believes there will not be any more first-team incomings or outgoings and insists he is content with the strength of his squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.

“No. The squad is closed, we will not sign anyone,” the Italian in comments published by Fabrizio Romano.

“Vallejo is back, Alaba is recovering, we are evaluating our academy players.

“I think there won’t be departures… no one wants to leave. We’ve a spectacular squad.”
