According to a report from SPORT, Antonio Pintus, Real Madrid’s fitness coach, and Luis Llopis, the goalkeeping coach, have recently extended their contracts with the team.

These two individuals are considered linchpins in the club’s strategic planning and in organizing the team’s physical, technical, and tactical aspects.

Initially brought into the club independently of Ancelotti’s coaching staff, Pintus and Llopis have seamlessly integrated into the Italian’s coaching family.

It must be noted that both were nearing the end of their contracts but have now renewed their commitments. Importantly, their roles at the club are independent of Ancelotti’s tenure; should the Italian manager depart, Pintus and Llopis would remain integral to Real Madrid.

Crucial members of Real Madrid staff

Pintus and Llopis’ contributions to Real Madrid’s recent successes have been substantial. Pintus has overseen the team’s physical conditioning with remarkable skill.

Meanwhile, Llopis has not only elevated Thibaut Courtois to the pinnacle of goalkeeping but also managed Andriy Lunin’s development superbly in the past season.

Beyond their specific roles, Llopis also adds value in strategic planning, match preparation, and game analysis.

These contract extensions mark a pivotal moment for Real Madrid’s technical team, completing the circle following Ancelotti’s expanded coaching setup in December last year.

Alongside Davide Ancelotti, Francesco Mauri, Beniamino Fulco, and Simone Montanaro, Pintus and Llopis play critical roles in maintaining the team’s high standards.

Part of Zinedine Zidane’s staff

In 2021, Real Madrid bolstered their coaching staff by bringing back two pivotal figures from Zinedine Zidane’s successful tenure: Pintus to manage physical preparation and Llopis, a tactical expert renowned for his work with goalkeepers.

Both Pintus and Llopis initially joined Real Madrid during Zinedine Zidane’s first stint as manager. Zidane’s familiarity with Pintus from their days at Juventus and with Llopis from his work with the club’s youth goalkeepers facilitated their integration into the first team.

Their contributions have been instrumental in Real Madrid’s extraordinary success over the last decade, a period that has seen the club claim five Champions League titles.
