Few clubs in world football can match Real Madrid’s aura or financial muscle in the transfer market. It is, thus, not surprising that Los Blancos more often than not end up with the transfer targets they deeply desire.

The signings of Jude Bellingham, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Kylian Mbappe, and Endrick have secured the future of the team. The only downside, however, is the lack of opportunities for young academy stars.

With no room in the first team for next season, several Castilla stars are looking to depart this summer. Facilitating these sales, however, is not proving easy owing to Los Blancos’ demands.

Club’s conditions

While Real Madrid have let go of several academy players in recent years, the management always makes it a point to retain some degree of control over the players’ futures.

This is achieved by a combination of means which include both retaining percentages of the players’ rights and inserting buy-back clauses for others.

According to reports from Jorge C Picon (h/t Madrid Xtra), the club is willing to sell Nico Paz, Mario Martin, Alvaro Rodriguez, and Rafa Obrador this summer. However, they demand €10 million for each player and are willing to give away only 50% of the players’ rights.

Needless to say, this condition is not attractive for clubs interested in these youngsters and is only serving as a deterrent in the process.

Pre-season is the key

With very few clubs willing to meet Real Madrid’s conditions, the aforementioned youngsters do not have it easy finding new clubs for next season.

They will, thus, begin pre-season in Madrid hoping to either impress Carlo Ancelotti or do enough to attract offers from clubs despite the Merengues’ steep demands.

Moreover, Real Madrid’s demands may well reduce as time passes, either in the form of a lower fee or a greater percentage of the rights given away.
