Real Madrid Have Plan to Help Kylian Mbappé Overcome Early Struggles
Kylian Mbappé has faced some challenges in his early months with Real Madrid, joining the club on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain this past summer. Despite the hurdles, a teammate shared his perspective on the French star’s form.
Mbappé has scored eight goals and provided two assists in 16 matches, but he’s still looking for a consistent form.
The Frenchman’s El Clásico debut was tough, as Real Madrid fell 4-0 to Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabéu on October 26. Just days later, Real Madrid suffered another setback with a 3-1 loss to AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League.
After these two disappointing results, Real Madrid bounced back with a dominant 4-0 win over CA Osasuna last weekend. Vinicius Junior stole the spotlight with a hat trick, and Jude Bellingham added another goal, though Mbappé struggled to make a noticeable impact in the game.
Real Madrid put pressure on Kylian Mbappé to improve
A report out of Spain reveals that Real Madrid want Mbappé to step up as a leader and become a central figure in the locker room. Carlo Ancelotti feels that, especially after some recent departures, there’s a lack of key reference players internally—a view shared by the club’s management.
Florentino Pérez has therefore asked Ancelotti to encourage Mbappé to embrace this leadership role, and the coach has already conveyed this vision to the player.
According to the report, Real Madrid plan to offer Mbappé the No. 10 shirt once Modric departs—a number rich with tradition and significance. Ancelotti believes that, as Mbappé’s game continues to develop, including improvements in his defensive work, he’ll gain even more legitimacy as a leader within the team.
