Aurélien Tchouaméni is not considering a transfer to the Premier League or other European clubs, despite speculation surrounding his future at Real Madrid.

The France international has been linked with a potential move away from the Spanish giants despite featuring prominently during the opening weeks of the campaign.

Liverpool are long-term admirers of the player and attempted to sign Tchouameni before his €80m move from AS Monaco to Real Madrid in 2022.

The Reds failed in an attempt to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad in the summer and could revisit the signing of a defensive midfielder, despite Ryan Gravenberch’s impressive form this season. Manchester United and Arsenal have also been claimed to hold interest in Tchouameni.

Tchouameni is unlikely to be an option for either club, however, with the 24-year-old not considering an exit from the Bernabeu, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The midfielder is focused on another successful season with the Spanish and European champions, having won seven trophies in two seasons with Los Blancos.

Fellow Matteo Moretto reiterated that claims Real Madrid are open to a sale are wide of the mark.

“Honestly what I think is that Aurelien Tchouameni is only thinking about Real Madrid, and has nothing else on his mind at the moment, he’s not thinking about leaving,” Moretto told Football Espana.

“Perhaps the rumours about Liverpool are emerging because they tried to sign him before he went to Real Madrid, and they were very interested in him, but I don’t see any foundation in these rumours.

“In addition, Tchouameni is completely integrated in the world of Real Madrid, and capable of playing various different roles. I have not received any information that Los Blancos would allow him to leave.

“Tchouameni is a key part of the Real Madrid project, they are happy with him, and Carlo Ancelotti sees him as key too. During a season there are always ups and downs, but the criticism he has received from local press does not add up to Real Madrid wanting to sell him.”
