Real Madrid midfield star on the radar of Premier League clubs
Aurelien Tchouameni has endured a torrential season so far with a combination of poor performances and injuries tormenting him for months.
The player has been pointed out as a weak link in the Merengues’ setup for a long time now and slipped into an unfortunate injury last month amid talks of his declining quality.
Last night, he made his much-awaited comeback and again dished out a performance that has been talked about as very underwhelming.
Future uncertain
Tchouameni’s poor showing against Athletic Club has only sparked rumours of a departure once again as many fans and pundits believe he does not have the quality to succeed at Real Madrid.
Now, Mundo Deportivo bring to light once more that Tchouameni’s future at Real Madrid is far from certain and that several Premier League clubs have their eyes on the player over a potential transfer in the summer.
After all, he was very poor in duels at San Mames and allowed the Basque defence to overrun him. He even lost possession time and time again last night, as has been the story all season.
It is not the first time that Tchouameni has been linked with a move to England as the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal have been rumoured to be interested in the past.
The player was not open to a departure back then, but his situation may have changed now.
It thus remains to be seen if Los Blancos are indeed willing to part ways with the player whose services they paid a fortune for. After all, they do have an able replacement in Eduardo Camavinga who offers a more rounded profile.
So far this season, the 24-year-old has made 11 starts for Real Madrid in La Liga and has no goal contribution to show. He averages close to ten defensive actions and 0.3 key passes per game.
