Kylian Mbappe is slowly but surely adapting to his new role at Real Madrid. Yet, it is clear that the Merengues’ attack appears off balance with no striker.

Vinicius Jr, Mbappe and Rodrygo will get the clu past this season but it appears inevitable that the men in white bring in a new striker ahead of next season so as to at least maintain an option of a lethal finisher.

They thus have their eyes on the market, and MARCA reveal that they are drawn to a certain young profile in the Segunda division.

The teenage star

As confirmed by the Spanish outlet, Real Madrid have their eyes on Albacete’s rising star Cristhian Kofane who has got off to a stunning start to life in Spain.

The 18-year-old Cameroonian international arrived at Albacete after the club reached an agreement with the AS Nylon academy in Cameroon and initially spent his time playing for the subsidiary team.

After not playing for a period, he enjoyed improved prominence and scored six goals in as many games for the subsidiary team. Seeing the spark in him, he was called up to train with the first team a week ago and even made his debut as a starter earlier this week.

Kofane played 62 minutes in Albacete’s 2-2 draw against Racing de Santander and scored one goal on the night. Now, he finds himself on the radars of several top clubs including Real Madrid.

The men in white have enquired about his availability as they see him to be a long-term asset for the club’s future. However Salzburg, Atlético de Madrid, Barcelona, Villareal, Valencia and Real Betis have also taken initial steps towards his incorporation.

His current contract with Albacete runs until June 2025 and Real Madrid will look to exploit the same should they narrow down on his name as their preferred target.
