Real Madrid hero reflects on hat-trick glory amid teammate injuries – ‘Happened to us so many times’
Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr. was overjoyed after scoring a hat-trick against Osasuna, but his happiness was tempered by the unfortunate injuries sustained by three of his teammates.
The most heartbreaking injury was that of Eder Militao, who suffered another serious knee problem, meaning he will miss the rest of the season.
Although Vinicius was pleased with his performance, he could not hide his concern for his teammates.
Mixed emotions
He expressed how difficult it has been for the team this season with repeated injuries, particularly to key players like Militao, Rodrygo, and Lucas Vazquez.
Vinicius said that while the team played exceptionally well in the match, the injuries were a blow to their spirit.
“We played very well today, which is something we haven’t been doing in the last few games. But I’m also sad for Militao, Rodrygo and Lucas. It’s a shame that this has happened to us so many times this season,” he began saying.
He hopes that the injured players recover quickly and return to action as soon as possible, while the rest of the squad continues to stay strong and support them during their recovery.
“I hope we can continue to be strong for them and they can return as soon as possible. I’m very happy for the goals, but I feel sad that Militao has to go through that again,” he added.
Best game of the season
In terms of his own performance, Vinicius described the match against Osasuna as the best of his season so far. He credited the team’s improvement to the manager’s tactical adjustments and the players’ dedication to implementing those instructions.
“Definitely. The manager has found the solution and the players have put into practice what he has told us and what we have trained in recent days. I think we have to continue like this, compact and together to do great things this season,” he admitted
Vinicius also spoke about his personal progress, stating that he has been feeling great since the international break. During that time, he had the opportunity to stay in Madrid and recover from a previous injury.
“I’m doing very well since the last break, when I was able to be in Madrid due to the injury. I’ve recovered well and I feel like I’m at my best. I have to continue like this to help the team like I did last season. I hope we can win many titles for the Madridistas,” he noted.
After a period of hard work, he feels he is now back to his best and ready to continue contributing to the team. Vinicius is determined to help Real Madrid win more titles this season, just as he did in the previous campaign, and bring joy to the club’s supporters.
