The powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid are ready to lock horns with their counterparts at Bayern Munich, over not one, but two players.

That’s according to Marca, who point towards Alphonso Davies as the first player in question.

Defender Davies has of course long taken his place at the heart of a tug-of-war between Real, and Bayern.

As much comes ahead of the expiration of the Canadian international’s contract with the latter in less than 12 months’ time.

Los Blancos were hopeful of wrapping up a deal for Davies this summer, but have been left frustrated by the hefty demands laid out by the Bayern brass.

The board at the Allianz Arena remain hopeful of tying their star left-back down to fresh terms, but Marca conclude that:

‘The plan for Real Madrid is the same as that carried out with David Alaba and Antonio Rüdiger. They will arrange for him to arrive at the Bernabéu on a free transfer next summer.’

And yet, this is unlikely to be on the only transfer saga set to play out between two of European football’s most historic clubs in the summer of 2025.

This comes with both Real and Bayern also readying all-out assaults for German sensation Florian Wirtz.

Attacking midfielder Wirtz is fresh off a scintillating campaign on the books of Bayer Leverkusen, which saw him rack up a remarkable 18 goals and 20 assists in 49 appearances across all competitions.

And as much has seen interest in the services of the 21-year-old, inevitably, begin to mount.

According to Marca, Real Madrid already have an agreement in place with the German sensation for next summer.

However, ‘Bayern are now going to fight to fulfil their dream of bringing Wirtz and Musiala together. So it will not only be the fight between Real Madrid and Bayern for Alphonso Davies.’
