Real Madrid’s first signing of 2025 is ‘90% complete’
The brass at La Liga champions Real Madrid are on the verge of tying up an agreement for the signature of Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold.
That’s according to Diario AS, who have this weekend provided a fresh insight into the situation.
The name of defender Alexander-Arnold has of course long proven a prominent one in the media headlines across all of Europe.
This comes owing to the worst-kept secret in football – that the right-back has made his way to the very top of the wishlist at La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid.
Alexander-Arnold’s contract terms at Liverpool are due to expire upon the season’s close, meaning, as things stand, he is set to become a free agent in the summer.
This situation has left the England international with a potentially career-defining decision to make when it comes to his future.
And, as alluded to above, if the latest word to have surfaced in the media on Sunday is anything to go by, then this call can now be considered as all but made.
As per a report from AS:
‘The signing is 90% complete. Practically done. Alexander-Arnold has one foot in Real Madrid.’
Though nothing has yet been signed, the understanding is that both TAA and the board at the Santiago Bernabéu have agreed to join forces with a view to next season and beyond.
