The powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid have kicked into gear initial efforts to sign a headline member of the defensive ranks at Liverpool.

That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Trent Alexander-Arnold as the player in question.

Full-back Alexander-Arnold has of course long taken his place front and centre in the media headlines in Spain’s capital.

As much comes amid the understanding that the England international has made his way firmly onto the wishlist of the Real Madrid brass.

With Dani Carvajal getting on in years, and Alexander-Arnold’s contract at Liverpool due to expire next summer, the 25-year-old has been earmarked as a transfer market opportunity too good to pass up.

This week, first contacts with the player’s entourage, in turn, have been initiated.

As per a report from Relevo:

‘According to this newspaper, Real Madrid has already made several contacts with the ‘red’ footballer’s entourage to find out exactly what his situation is and the chances of success of a possible operation.’

It is also reiterated that, as of yet, Alexander-Arnold has not responded to any of Liverpool’s contract renewal offers.
