Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has spoke out on the claims of alleged early problems between two members of his squad in pre-season training.

The pair in question? Endrick, and Antonio Rüdiger.

For those who may have missed it, the subject of the ‘welcome’ afforded to new arrival Endrick in Real Madrid training on Monday marked a headline talking point back in Spain’s capital across the 24 hours which followed.

This came after it was revealed that the Brazilian international had been subjected to an altogether tough time by new teammate Antonio Rüdiger.

Handed the unenviable task of getting the better of the German stalwart during a match between ranks, Endrick was at one point left grounded, and in evident pain.

Not only that, but it was later revealed that the 18-year-old had been urged on more than one occasion by Rüdiger to ‘be stronger in the duels’.

Such developments were framed by some sections in the media as having given rise to tension between the players, less than ideal so early in Real’s pre-season preparations.

Speaking to the media in anticipation of his side’s friendly meeting with AC Milan on Thursday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of as much was put to the aforementioned Carlo Ancelotti.

In his response, though, the Italian was quick to shut down any and all negative chatter, assuring that:

“Reports of issues between Rüdiger and Endrick? Nothing happened, Rüdiger just welcomed Endrick (smiles). He will do the same when Mbappé comes, Antonio is a great guy.”
