Real Madrid announce another contract extension

La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Thursday confirmed that another important member of the club’s first-team ranks has put pen to paper on fresh terms with the club.

The subject of contract renewals has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Spain’s capital over the course of recent days.

This comes after a long-time member of Los Blancos’ midfield setup, in Luka Modrić, saw his latest one-year deal made official by the club.

And, as alluded to above, 24 hours on, the Spanish champions have pushed a 2nd extension over the line, too.

The player set to stay put at the Santiago Bernabéu for at least the next 12 months? Lucas Vázquez.

Versatile defender Vázquez enjoyed another fine campaign last time out, acting as the perfect backup to Dani Carvajal on the right of Carlo Ancelotti’s backline.

And as much has proven enough to earn the Spaniard a deserved renewal.

As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of Real Madrid:

‘Real Madrid C. F. and Lucas Vázquez have agreed an extension to the player’s contract, tying him to the club until 30 June 2025.’
