The powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid have already begun drawing up contingency plans, in the case of goalkeeper Andriy Lunin coming to the decision to move on.

That’s according to The Athletic, who have on Tuesday provided a fresh insight into the situation.

Shot-stopper Lunin’s future has of course been thrown firmly back up in the air over the course of the last few weeks.

As much comes amid claims that the Ukrainian, previously tipped as just a step away from penning fresh terms in Madrid, is now giving consideration to an immediate exit.

Immediately relegated back to the bench following the return of Thibaut Courtois this past season, Lunin is increasingly doubtful when it comes to his long-term prospects at the Santiago Bernabéu.

In the case of an offer deemed as sufficient arriving for his signature, Real Madrid, in turn, are not entirely opposed to a sale.

And, should as much come to fruition, Los Blancos have already earmarked what they feel would be a sufficient replacement.

As per The Athletic, the player in question comes in the form of Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Spanish international Kepa, who spent this past season on loan with Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, remains held in high regard in the Spanish capital, particularly for his attitude.

With the Chelsea man also more than eager to link back up with Real, a summer reunion between the parties therefore cannot be ruled out.

‘Madrid and Ancelotti would prefer Lunin to stay, but if he leaves, the club consider Arrizabalaga to be a great alternative,’ it is concluded.
