Real Madrid recently lost out on long-time target Leny Yoro as their refusal to meet Lille’s asking rate saw the youngster join Manchester United.

However, the recent setback is unlikely to deter the club from continuing to scour exciting options in the transfer market.

In addition to potentially signing a new centre-back, following the departures of Rafa Marin and Nacho Fernandez, recruitments in midfield cannot be ruled out either.

After all, Toni Kroos’ retirement leaves a gaping void in midfield, which Los Blancos could fill with cost-friendly options.

Adrien Rabiot could pique Real Madrid’s interest

French midfielder Adrien Rabiot’s departure from Juventus was made official today, as he is set to leave the club as a free agent after the expiration of his contract.

He spent five seasons with the Bianconeri and would now be looking for better pastures elsewhere in Europe.

In light of his recent exit, according to Mundo Deportivo Real Madrid have emerged as a potential destination for the midfielder, especially now that he is a free agent.

As per the information, Los Blancos and AC Milan are two teams that could approach Rabiot this summer.

A potential wildcard in midfield

While Real Madrid have no shortage of options in midfield, beefing up the ranks is always seen as a wise option for elite sides.

And with Toni Kroos’ retirement and Dani Ceballos’ possible exit, the Merengues could use Rabiot as a solid rotation figure and a reliable option to soften any unforeseen injury crises.

In fact, the 29-year-old is still going strong at the international level, regularly featuring for the France international team in the recently concluded UEFA Euro 2024.

As such, Rabiot’s box-to-box profile and defensive abilities could potentially float Real Madrid’s boat as they evaluate options to bolster the team ahead of next season.
