Ready for a ‘SmackDown’? WWE series set to make two stops in SC this fall

Professional wrestling is coming back to Colonial Life Arena.

WWE recently added 15 events to its 2024 touring schedule, including an Oct. 18 stop in Columbia at the state’s largest arena.

The event will be part of the “Friday Night SmackDown” series, which is televised via Fox or FS1. The long-running show, which has been going since 1999, is one of WWE’s two flagship programs alongside “Monday Night Raw.”

This makes two years in a row that “SmackDown” has rolled through Columbia, as the series was previously in town in May 2023.

Wrestlers Cody Rhodes, Bayley, Kevin Owens, Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair and LA Knight are scheduled to appear at the Columbia show.

The Oct. 18 stop won’t be the only “SmackDown” in South Carolina this fall.

The weekly episodic show is scheduled to take place at Greenville’s Bon Secour Wellness arena on Oct. 11.

The wrestling event joins an increasingly packed schedule at Colonial Life Arena this fall, as late-September through November also includes Cirque du Soleil, Nicki Minaj, Jeff Dunham, Casting Crowns, P!NK and Jelly Roll.

Tickets for the Columbia “SmackDown” go on sale Friday, July 26 at 10 a.m. via ticketmaster.com.
