Rayan Cherki’s transfer to Borussia Dortmund entering closing stages

Olympique Lyonnais attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki (20) is edging closer to leaving his formative club and joining Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund, according to a report this Monday from Le Progrès. The outlet understands that talks have intensified this weekend to find an agreement on personal terms between the French U21 international and the 2024 Champions League runners-up.

Borussia Dortmund previously hijacked PSG’s move for Cherki by matching their €15m transfer fee. The France U21 international is currently with Thierry Henry’s Olympic football team setup as Les Bleus gear up for their Olympic Games’ opener against the USA this Wednesday at Marseille. Cherki is reportedly convinced by Dortmund’s project after refusing to extend his Lyon deal, as reported by Get French Football News.
