According to a report by RMC Sport, Rayan Cherki (21) has agreed a contract extension with Olympique Lyonnais. The France u21 star who featured under Thierry Henry at the Olympics will extend for one year keeping him at Lyon until 2026, with it being reported that both sides have reached a full agreement on the terms.

Cherki had been placed in the “loft” over the summer with Lyon keen to move the player on as he was entering the final year of his contract as they were unwilling to allow him to leave on a free transfer. The winger who can also play as an attacking midfielder had interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, and Fulham FC

However, with those transfers breaking down Lyon offered Cherki a chance to be reintegrated into the team if he were to extend his contract. RMC Sport further reported that with a contract now signed Cherki can be reintroduced into the matchday squad and he will likely be part of the group for the match against arch-rivals Olympique de Marseille tomorrow evening.
