Ravens' TE Mark Andrews drops potential game-tying 2-point conversion in loss vs. Bills

Mark Andrews dropped the ball, literally and figuratively.

The usually reliable Ravens' tight end had a night to forget in Buffalo, coughing up the ball with a fumble and a drop in the final moments.

As a result, Baltimore is heading home for the offseason with another early playoff exit as the comeback attempt fell short. The Bills are now on to the AFC championship game for a rematch with the Chiefs, but the focus will be on more missed opportunities and turnovers from Baltimore.

Here's what to know about Andrews' fourth-quarter woes on Sunday night.

Mark Andrews drop

Following a touchdown to Isaiah Likely, the Ravens needed a two-point conversion to tie the game. Lamar Jackson found an open Andrews in the flat at the pylon, who dropped the ball as he lost his balance and fell to the ground.

The Ravens failed to recover the ensuing onside kick, and the Bills were able to run the clock out after a Ty Johnson first down run.

Andrews wasn't available to speak to reporters after the game, according to The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec.

Head coach Jim Harbaugh spoke in support of Andrews, saying that no one has more heart than him.

"We wouldn't be here without Mark Andrews," Harbaugh said.

The Ravens quickly defended the tight end after the game, saying the result didn't fall on him.

“For anybody to say anything about him, you have to look in the mirror," Kyle Hamilton said.

"We're a team," Jackson said when asked what he told Andrews. The quarterback was clearly frustrated with his own performance, pointing out that he had two costly turnovers in the first half.

Earlier in the fourth quarter, Andrews tried to do too much after a 16-yard catch with just under nine minutes to go.

He tried to make a play and showcase his elusiveness but Terrel Bernard knocked the ball out. Buffalo recovered and turned that turnover into three points, stretching the lead to eight.

What is Mark Andrews' salary?

The 29-year-old Andrews is set to enter the final year of his contract in 2025, which carries an average salary of $14 million, according to Spotrac.

That would conclude a four-year, $56 million extension with the Ravens after his rookie contract expired. He will carry a cap hit of $16.9 million in 2025.
