Rashford prioritises Milan move as Okafor leaves and transfer figures emerge
Reports in Italy claim Marcus Rashford has prioritised a move to Milan, but the Rossoneri need Manchester United to pay part of the striker’s salary while Noah Okafor will undergo RB Leipzig medical today.
Milan are working to sign Manchester United striker Rashford this month, and according to Gazzetta and Corriere dello Sport, the England international is the Rossoneri’s primary target.
Corriere dello Sport claims that Rashford has prioritised a move to San Siro while the Serie A giants are working on the financial aspect of the deal.
Rashford prioritises Milan move as Okafor leaves and transfer fees emerge
Milan can’t afford to cover Rashford’s full salary until the end of the season, so they need the 27-year-old to lower his wages unless Manchester United pay part of it until June.
Rashford earns over €13m per season at Old Trafford, and paying half of it for six months would mean making him the highest-paid player in the team alongside Rafael Leao.
According to Gazzetta, the Rossoneri can realistically offer Rashford a salary between €3m and €5m until the end of the season.
Milan will also need to discuss Rashford’s salary beyond June if they sign the striker on loan with an option to buy.
The Rossoneri will boost their January transfer budget through Noah Okafor’s loan move to RB Leipzig.
The Swiss international will undergo medical tests with the Bundesliga side today.
According to Calciomercato.com, Milan are also waiting for a Roma offer for Alexis Saelemaekers, while Mexican side Chivas Guadalajara are ready to offer €7m for Luka Romero, who is out on loan at Alaves.
Nevertheless, the Argentinean talent has yet to agree to leave the Spanish side despite struggling for playing time in the first part of 2024-25.
