Raptors' Fred VanVleet destroys Markelle Fultz with devastating crossover
Bet on Toronto Raptors guard Fred VanVleet to make his opponents look downright silly this season.
VanVleet temporarily paused the Markelle Fultz Redemption Tour, embarrassing Orlando’s guard with a devastating crossover, then added insult to injury by completing the play with a 3-pointer.

It’s somewhat poetic given that VanVleet — who went undrafted in 2016 only to emerge as a core member of the Raptors’ championship team — did this to Fultz, who is failing to live up to his expected potential when the Philadelphia 76ers took him first overall in 2017.
VanVleet shot 50 percent from 3-point range through Toronto’s first three games of the season and while that eye-popping number is the function of a small sample size, he’s quickly ascending into star territory. It’s worth noting, however, that VanVleet’s highlight-reel play was his lone 3-pointer during the 104-95 victory, going 1-of-7 from beyond the arc. He finished with 14 points, six assists, five rebounds and three turnovers.
By now, we know VanVleet is forever motivated by his draft slight. Even with a championship ring in tow, his early play is another example of hard work paying dividends for the Raptors.
