Raptors fans help missing boy find parents at championship parade

As nearly two-million people descended on the city of Toronto for the Raptors’ championship parade, it didn’t take long for the police to become concerned.

Reports of missing children and people suffering from dehydration began to put a sour note on what was supposed to be a joyous occasion. The former issue even prompted the police to let people know that missing children were being taken to the 52 Division downtown until they were reunited with their parents.

But at one point during the parade, Raptors fans did their best to protect a young fan from a scary trip to the police station.

Landon had become separated from his parents, according to Chris Howson-Jan, who shared the story on Twitter. But before locating the authorities through that enormous crowd, the quick-thinking fans in the area decided to try to let Landon’s parents know that their son was safe and sound.

The video above doesn’t capture the fans in mid chant, but it does show the scene as Landon was eventually reunited with his parents.

The Raptors championship parade didn’t quite go off without a hitch, but Monday will be a day that the fans won’t soon forget.
