Chelsea have been one of the Premier League’s flagship teams, an ever-present and modern force in England’s top flight.

The five-time title winners have had their fair share of stars at Stamford Bridge, delivering a whole collection of iconic moments and unforgettable goals.

We’ve decided to look back at some of the Blues’ best goals in the Premier League, taking on the difficult task of ranking the finest Chelsea goals of the Premier League era.

Ranked! Chelsea’s best ever Premier League goals:

5. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink vs Manchester United (2000)

Few have hit ’em quite like Jimmy Floyd.

Chelsea’s thunder-thighed hitman blasted his way to the Golden Boot in 2000-01, after arriving from Atletico Madrid in a club-record deal.

The Dutch dangerman developed quite the habit of hitting howitzers and not many of his efforts were quite as unsaveable as this one.

4. Gus Poyet vs Sunderland (1999)

Chelsea’s fun-filled side of the late nineties helped themselves to a clutch of cup competitions, a pre-takeover team packed with exciting foreign imports.

Two of the West London side’s star names combined for this beauty on the opening weekend of the 1999-2000 season, to sink Sunderland at Stamford Bridge.

The magical Gianfranco Zola’s scooped pass was scissor-kicked home on the run by Gus Poyet as the Blues ran riot to claim a 4-0 win.

3. Eden Hazard vs West Ham (2019)

Has a goal every encapsulated the brilliance of Eden Hazard better than this?

The slaloming superstar tormented opposition defenders during seven successful seasons in a blue shirt, with his balletic balance, nimble footwork and wonderful weaves past defenders making him a beloved figure at the Bridge.

Hazard’s stunning solo strike at West Ham was the Belgian at his jaw-dropping best, showcasing fabulous footwork to sidestep several Claret challenges and fire home.

2. Didier Drogba vs Everton (2006)

Whenever Chelsea appeared to be in the s***, Didier Drogba was often on hand to bail the Blues out.

The Ivorian became Chelsea’s cup king and man for the big occasion, with Drogba usually at his best when the stakes were highest.

Drogba delivered in an entertaining win at Everton in 2006-07, when the striker struck this superb late winner as Chelsea claimed a 3-2 win at Goodison Park. Late on, he chested down an upfield ball and swivelled to fire a vicious volley over Tim Howard.

He ended the campaign with the Premier League’s Golden Boot.

1. Michael Essien vs Arsenal (2006)

London Derby – check.

Result-altering goal – tick.

Outrageous technique – Abso-bloody-lutely.

The Ghanaian’s golazo prevented a costly Chelsea defeat to their capital neighbours and earns our award as the Blues’ best of the Premier League era.
