Ranieri makes Totti promise to Roma
Claudio Ranieri confirms he’ll talk to club legend Francesco Totti but doesn’t guarantee a return to the club for the ex-striker.
Roma coach Ranieri will talk to Totti in the coming weeks, the 73-year-old told Corriere dello Sport.
Totti spent his entire playing career at the Olimpico and worked for a few years as a club director, leaving under the James Pallotta presidency in 2019.
Ranieri makes Totti promise to Roma
“I can guarantee that I’ll talk to Francesco, but I need to know what he wants to do before,” Ranieri said.
“I’ll talk to him as I already talked to Daniele [De Rossi], and I’d love to hug Bruno Conti, who I haven’t seen for a long time.”
Ranieri was explicitly asked whether the Friedkins would be against Totti’s return.
“We haven’t talked about it, but I don’t think so, I don’t know,” he replied.
During the same interview, Ranieri admitted that Roma will sign new players in January and confirmed that he’ll step down as the head coach at the end of his contract in June.
