Harry Kane continued his good pre-season form with two goals in six minutes as Tottenham came from behind to beat Rangers 2-1 at Ibrox.

In more encouraging signs ahead of the new season, Kane looked sharp in front of goal as he made it five goals in three friendlies with two good finishes from inside the area.

New Spurs signings Yves Bissouma, Ivan Perisic, Clement Lenglet, Djed Spence and Fraser Forster all made their debuts as substitutes in the second half.

Tottenham fell behind in the first half when Rabbi Matondo got past Ryan Sessegnon down the right and crossed for Antonio Colak to put Rangers ahead from close range.

Bissouma was introduced at half-time and Spurs levelled early in the second half when Kane shifted the ball onto his right foot and fired into the top corner with a brilliant finish.

Six minutes later the England captain combined with Heung-min Son to score his second.

After finally announcing Djed Spence as their sixth summer signing this week, Spurs will turn their attentions to selling unwanted players.

While they remain in the market for a creative attacker and may target another defender, the focus is on outgoings.

Fabio Paratici has been in Italy, where he has had meetings with AC Milan over Japhet Tanganga and Sampdoria over Bryan Gil.

If you missed it this morning, Julian Nagelsmann has admitted Bayern Munich would love to sign Harry Kane and has refused to rule out of a move for the Tottenham striker.

Bayern are on the lookout for a replacement for Robert Lewandowski and their chief executive Oliver Kahn revealed this week that it would be a “dream” to sign Kane.

Spurs made it clear last summer that Kane was not for sale amid interest from Manchester City and Nagelsmann admits Bayern are likely to be priced out of an immediate move.

But the England captain is in the final two years of his contract at Tottenham and the public interest from Bayern could press Spurs into talks over a new deal.

The 29-year-old is excited by Spurs’ progress under Antonio Conte and increasingly hopeful he can fulfil his ambitions of winning a trophy with his boyhood club next season.

The defender was injured after landing awkwardly in Spurs’ pre-season friendly against Sevilla last Saturday and returned to the UK in a protective boot the following day.

Loan signing Clement Lenglet would likely deputise if Davies is ruled out.
