Should The Rangers Sign Brandon Saad?

Should the New York Rangers go after Brandon Saad now that the St. Louis Blue agreed to terminate his contract?

It should certainly be intriguing for Rangers general manager Chris Drury.

Saad is a Stanley Cup champion and has been a consistent offensive threat through his long NHL career.

It was just last season when the veteran forward recorded 26 goals, 16 assists and 42 points in 81 games with the Blues.

Now, that same player is on the open market, so it’s definitely worth looking into if you’re Drury.

However, the Rangers are pretty set at left wing with Artemi Panarin, Chris Kreider, Will Cuylle and Adam Edström.

There doesn't appear to be too much room for Saad in New York’s lineup unless the team experiences injuries.

We’ve also seen a rapid decline from the 32-year-old this season in terms of his production as he has just seven goals, nine assists and 16 points in 43 games.

Never say never, but don’t expect Saad to sign with the Blueshirts.
