Rangers Expected To Give Matt Rempe Another Chance After Suspension
The New York Rangers have not given up on Matt Rempe just yet.
Rempe was suspended for eight games due to a hit he delivered on Miro Heiskanen. He’s served five out of the eight games.
Once his suspension is over, the Rangers very well may keep Rempe on the active roster instead of sending him down to the American Hockey League.
“The good news is the Rangers love him almost as much as you love him,” ESPN’s Emily Kaplan said. “They still love his attitude, his work ethic, his development, so as long as he’s learned his lesson, I do expect him to get another opportunity with the Rangers this spring.”

The 22-year-old forward has played in just five games for the Rangers this season as he’s been sent up and down from the Hartford Wolf Pack.
He provides a certain physical spark that is certainly intriguing for a Rangers team that is struggling to find their identity and continue to slip in the Eastern Conference standings.
It’s unclear how Peter Laviolette will utilize Rempe going forward, but expect him to carve out some sort of role in New York.
