Rangers Make Big Change To Coaching Staff

There will be a shakeup to the Rangers coaching staff.

The Rangers are hiring Jeff Malcolm as the new goaltenders coach to replace Benoit Allaire according to Mollie Walker of The New York Post.

Allaire will stay with the Rangers organization, but will be limiting his role after 20 years in New York.

Over the past three seasons, Malcolm has been the goalie coach for AHL Hartford, so he is more than prepared for his new role with the Rangers.

He’s now tasked with coaching Igor Shesterkin and Jonathan Quick, two premier goaltenders.

Meanwhile, the new Hartford goaltenders coach will be Brendan Burke, the son of longtime NHL goalie Sean Burke.
